How the project data is connected.

Defense Innovation Ecosystem

Created by Michael Murphy, who  helped develop CTOInnovation.mil, OUSD(R&E)'s "gateway to innovation," this graph view shows much of what is on that site and additional information.

NOTE: This graph does not connect to the Data, but we are showcasing it as a great example of someone applying interest to research and illustrate what a portion of the ecosystem looks like.

Government Organizations with Logos

This view of the Data shows all government organizations and their connections to each other.

To create this view, only Government Organization Entities are shown. Connections may vary across types, but are all displayed the same. There may be orphans if data is not available to show Connections.

Additional details about each item or connection type can be seen in the pop-up sidebar by clicking or tapping on an individual entity or connecting line.

All The Things

This view of the Data shows it all... well, almost. You can see every different Organization and Entity type, as well as a number of different Connections (see the legend).

To create this view, DEF Community connections are not shown (it would be even more cluttered, trust us). There may be orphans if data is not available to show Connections.

Additional details about each item can be seen in the pop-up sidebar by clicking or tapping on an individual entity.

DEF Universe (Defense Edition)

This view of the Data shows how different elements of the Department of Defense are connected to DEF, with military branches and department each serving as hubs to their subordinate Entities. It will be updated to include other major members of the National Security Council over the course of time.

To create this view, only DEF Community Connections are shown. Additional details about each item can be seen in the pop-up sidebar by clicking or tapping on an individual entity.
